Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios Cigars (Box of 25)

Cohiba is the flagship brand of Habanos.

It was created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro himself and was manufactured in the then top-secret, but now world-famous, El LLaguito factory . At first, outside of Cuba it was only seen as a gift for visiting heads of state and diplomats.

Since 1982, Cohiba has been available in limited quantities on the open market.

The name is an ancient Taino Indian word for the bundles of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba: the oldest known form of Habano.

The Cohiba leaves are the "selection selection" of the top 5 Vegas de Primera from the districts of San Juan and Martínez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo area .

Uniquely among Habanos, up to three of Cohiba's filler leaves - the seco, the claro and the raro medio tiempo - undergo additional fermentation in barrels. This unique process produces a special aroma and flavour that you will only find in Cohiba.

The Linea Maduro 5 series consists of three sizes, each wrapped in a dark maduro leaf that has been specially aged for five years; this Cohiba line was launched in 2007.
